Yea so FFXIV was tragically bad, like a huge disappointment on the scale of which we may never see again. That being said I've been dicking around in DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online), and it's actually pretty fun. Plays like WoW with the D&D 3.5+ character development thrown in. If you're bored and sick of running UBRS or whatever the fuck you people do with your time, hit me up on the Khyber server, character is Dueron.

Did I mention it's completely free?

So I downloaded and installed DDO, but it never goes past the welcome/start-up screen. There something special I have to do or is it just maintenance time?

You need to make an account before you can play, they don't let you do it in the game. After that pick the Khyber world server and make your dude. If you need help with all the d&d shit let me know.

It goes to the launcher and will stay there for awhile and then it will go through the pre-req software and then it exits out to the desktop.

that's weird. Umm, uninstall and reinstall using your downloads folder. If that don't work re-download it because that sounds like it's missing files.

Do the female dwarfs sound like horny bitches when they do their trade skills?

If so I may need to look into this as I am bored with all other games.

I have yet to discover if there even is crafting in DDO. It's one of the main draws I think.

Found out there is crafting, but it very specialized and not used to actually craft items till way later in the game.
